After a busy few years directing on the Treasure Coast for Curtain Call Productions, The Barn Theatre, A.C.T. and producing her own shows for the Barn, A.C.T. and the Kane Center, Gale is finally enjoying creative time. She recently garnered the 2021 mARTies Award for Literary Excellence. Her new comedy murder mysteries Intermission and Murder at 11, as well as her comedic mystery Made Maids, The Real Housewives of the HOA, Eenie Meenie Miney Murder and Libby & The Would Be King (which was written after the Rodney King incident and the tumultuous times that followed, and suddenly seems very relevant again) were written during the pandemic and are ready for market. Look for them in the near future.  After completing direction for “Love letters” at the Treasure Coast Theatre; she looks forward to directing “Squabbles” at the Pineapple Playhouse in Pt. St/ Lucie, opening February 14, 2025.

Instead of moaning about isolation, during the pandemic, local actors continue to hone their skills by reading new plays. Among the group pictured here are Mary Murphy, Jeanette Mazzella, David Pierce and Chris Mazzella. Others in the group are Arlette Eulo and Joe Pierce. Note that although the masks are not the “Tragedy and Comedy” ones we think of when we think theatre; the readers protect themselves and others with them and are socially distanced. Maybe these are the new theatre masks. Let’s hope not.Below Chris, Kathy Straton, David, Carlos Rivera Navas and Mary discuss their characters in “Love Killers” sans masks for the first time in over a year.

Excerpts from Gale’s One Nite Only

It was a rousing time when Jenni Lawton joined Arlette Eulo, Carlos Rivera Navas and Gale for her ONE NITE ONLY at the Kane Center in Stuart. Songs from her award winning  Waterin’ Hole, Punching Judy, Canteen, Memorial, Pharmaceutical, Doo-Wop Daze and others kept the lively crowd singing along, dancing along and laughing a lot. Look for more in the coming seasons.

Gale and some dynamic entertainers joined forces bringing top notch entertainment to the Treasure Coast and South Florida with her whimsical musical revues and cabaret nights. Considerations for next season are The Grande Olde Towne Opree, a salute to country when country wasn’t cool; Harvest Hootenanny celebrating the music of the sixties and seventies and other popular revues.

Fans are clamoring for reprises of the popular Doo-Wop Daze with fun and games from those days of hoop skirts and peg legged pants; Pharmaceutical the Revusical - a sideways look at the prescription drug trade; 20th Century Broadway at the Movies with the music and fun of those great big movie musicals. All played to sold out houses in local venues. Her new revues Around the World in 20 Songs..or so and Broad-Wop combining the best of 20th Century Broadway and the fabulous 50s. All her revues are filled with lively games and audience particiption. Her video project Not Home Yet about a veteran and his family, and their struggles with PTSD is free to all Veteran Associations. You can check it out on page 3 [Gale Baker Titles].
